Unitary enterprise A1, the largest private telecom, and content service provider in Belarus, and infrastructure operator beCloud have completed work on expanding the 4G network in the Minsk region.

"Now more than 98% of the region's population will be able to use high-speed Internet using LTE technology, and the area of 4G coverage in the region has increased more than five times: from 17.7 to 89%," said a press release from the second-largest mobile network operator in Belarus.

During the implementation of the project, more than 240 base stations operating in the 800 MHz frequency range were installed in the Minsk region. It provides wide geographical coverage of the network and reliable signal reception in rural areas, including outside settlements, said the release.

In addition, it is planned to include more than 60 base stations within a month to improve the coverage of the territory.

Nesvizhsky (95.6%), Dzerzhinsky (93.4%), Kopylsky (88.7%), Chervensky (84.3%), and Soligorsky (81.6%) regions became the leaders in terms of coverage of the territory with a 4G network in the Minsk region.

"The Minsk region has already become the third region of Belarus, where, within the framework of cooperation between A1 and beCloud, a project has been implemented to expand the coverage of fourth-generation communications," the release said.

In the future, A1 and beCloud are planning to launch an LTE network in the Vitebsk region. By 2023, the 4G coverage area for A1 subscribers will almost equal the current coverage area of the A1 3G network and will reach 97% of the territory of Belarus.
