Serbia Broadband (SBB) said that it would begin free digitalization of the Serbian cities of Kraljevo and Vrsac in September by extending its ‘GIGA’-branded fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network.

Work on the upgrade is set to start in September and, once complete, will enable customers within the network’s footprint to utilise download speeds of up to 1Gbps.

“SBB has upgraded Internet speeds in 11 towns and cities over the past two years as part of its five-year investment plan worth 300 million Euro and has digitalized more than 80 percent of its users,” said a press release from the largest cable television provider and second-largest broadband internet provider in Serbia.

Users of SBB services, without additional costs, a new contract, and switching to new packages, in digital cities have access to digital television on up to three TV devices in the house and greater service stability.

The digitalization process takes place in phases in parts of the city, and each SBB user will be contacted by technical support before arriving at their home address.

SBB said that it recommends its EON packages which include the EON Smart Box which turns every TV into a smart TV and offers a personalized TV experience as well as the EON Kids profile, rewind for up to seven days on all channels, a Video Club with more than 19,000 titles, super-fast Internet and land-line phones.
