Celcom Axiata, Maxis and Digi have each paid upfront to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) MYR11.8 million (USD2.8 million), securing pairs of 10MHz spectrum in the 2.6GHz band.

Furthermore, the operators will have to pay an annual fee of MYR20.76 million when the spectrum licenses go live on July 1 this year, with the first payment expected on 15 December and the licenses will be valid for five years, reported CommsUpdate.

Celcom, Maxis and Digi each stated in filings they accepted the MCMC's spectrum offer.

Telekom Malaysia has issued a statement that its subsidiary Webe Digital accepted the regulator’s assignment of 20MHz in the 2,600MHz band. It paid MYR7.06 million for the frequencies, with an annual fee of MYR5.98 million.
