The Niger government announced it will invest CFA58 billion ($107 million) to connect around 1.4 million people to connectivity.

Agence Ecofin reported, the National Agency for the Information Society of Niger (ANSI) launched the "Smart Village Project for Rural Growth and Digital Inclusion (PVI)" to connect 2,111 villages to mobile and broadband services over the next six years.

The PVI project will bring to the villages digital infrastructures, financial education campaigns, and modernisation of farmer payments, and creating digital platforms for agriculture workers.

ANSI stated the project has so far connected 15,000 villages in Niger to connectivity, speeding up the facilitation of internet connections to more than 85% of the population.

The World Bank [gave the Niger government $100 million](https://developingtelecoms.com/telecom-business/telecom-investment-mergers/9762-world-bank-grants-niger-100m-for-digital-push.html) in July to push digital transformations in the country.
